Introducing The Influence Society Collective: A new model for hotel digital marketing

The COVID-19 pandemic has signaled a new chapter for hospitality, springboarding us forward five years into the future both technologically and operationally. To operate a successful hotel today, one needs to be even more flexible and agile than we have been in the past. Hotels are outsourcing in order to meet these needs, yet there’s risk in outsourcing work, too. And when a hotel comes to an agency today, we need to be able to really listen to the client and be deeply committed to their success.

That’s why today we’re launching The Influence Society Collective, or just The Collective.

The Collective is a new elite collective of the hotel industry’s top consultants, freelancers, and micro-agencies who share our mission to work better together in helping the hospitality and travel industry meet the future. You can think of us as an affiliation, maybe a trade group, or a certification, even simply as a network. But no matter what, we are highly skilled and dedicated to our crafts as travel industry consultants. We all share the values of quality, transparency, flexibility, and collaboration.

Hotels Need A Better Option

Let’s face it: The classic agency is dying out. They are not flexible enough to deliver the right kind of service when a client needs it, and not when they don’t. No one needs a 24-month agreement with vague deliverables. The alternative to this model is a modern, agile network of like-minded freelancers and consultants with cool skills, stories to tell, and jobs to be done, working together to deliver better work faster to the client. And as a hotel, you’ll have access to vetted world-class services so if you need web design one month, you can come back to The Collective for music programming the next.

How to Join

As a member, you can still operate completely independently, but you’ll benefit by being a part of our network, receive certification (a cool digital badge) and a showcase on our website, plus access to our portfolio to sell your services.

Of course, not everyone will be admitted as a member. In fact, we have a rigorous vetting process to ensure only the best make it through and for now, are capping memberships at one per country so your skills really should be outstanding!

Collective Members can function for partners in a few different ways:

  1. Simply send us leads and earn a commission
  2. Become an official representative of Influence Society in your country or region, packaging our services alongside your own, and be more closely involved with the client
  3. Offer your services as part of Influence Society’s offerings

We’ll be sharing more about our first members in the coming weeks.

I really do believe the old school digital marketing agency model is a dying breed. This new model we’re establishing with The Collective reflects many of the new, exciting, transformative things happening in our industry and we intend to be at the front of the line to explore this new territory.
